Modern Lonely Metropolitan

This appropriation of Herbert Bayer's "Lonely Metropolitan" (1932) represents the usual solitude and insignificance inside the single person within the large number of human existence in urban areas. My manipulation attempts to show a more modern edition to the original while applying the method through Photoshop to portray how one may not always be alone within the 'big city life'.

I am Anthony or Will as my father calls me.

I am very keen on photography and wish to pursue a career in commercial photography or photography in the media in the future.

I have come to terms that I have always enjoyed photography growing up and was fascinated by one capture of time. I feel I have achieved so much, even with just learning the basics.

In year six I received my first Kodak Digital Camera, but a couple of years before that I was given an “I-Zone” Polaroid camera to experiment with.

These days I experiment with my photographs, using digital photography with my sexy camera Canon EOS 40D and B&W film in my photography class.

I would like to think of myself on DA not only to share, discuss and show my work, but to promote Australia and the land which I live with my photographs.

I am eager to learn and improve on my work and will do so for what is hopefully a future of photography ahead of me.

Movember

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 13, 2009, 12:06 AM

Heylo anyone,

The year continues to go by as we are in the month of November which means it is heating up for us Aussies. I suppose I will get more of a chance to take Summer photographs more often than not soon. Unfortunately, the heat will assist in creating local bushfires :/

Today was the last day for me in year 11 and I couldn't work any harder for my photography work as I completed all my work to my standard :D The exams are coming up in the next week and I am hoping for a higher mark in photography and am eager to study hard for it. I have 6 exams and excited for the 10 days off afterwards as I get a chance to relax from homework and maybe go swimming.

I have started gathering ideas and stimulus for my year 12 work and am excited to get started soon. My years work or theme will revolve around the idea of self body image, so that is what's expected to be produced in the year of 2010. I need more experience with expressive portraits anyway. I am starting to consider a port folio for my entire work for the requirement of my planned college course.

This may seem a little early, but I wouldn't mind a few things for Christmas. That would include a decent tripod! (Better than using items like a camp chair). I would also like to improve on slow shutter speeds and experiment my ideas. My school blog is comleted for my year 11's work and will hopefully be running next year in year 12. So I will finish by mentioning any chance you have to visit my school photography blog please :D >>> [link]

Cheers,
Will
